A very serious Poll
Okay so for the past few years, I've come across dozens of people who have become very good friends and i've made dozens more new acquaintances. Once you get to know me well, you will realize that one of my favourite things is bathroom humour. But in all honesty, all of it isn't really humour, it's serious talk, as you can tell from one of my previous posts here. I'm a curious guy. I like to know things about people and cultures and generally the world around me. And of course you can get to know everything about a person except for one area, his bathroom lifestyle.
A couple of years ago, some odd 20 friends or so had a very serious discussion for about three hours straight. And the results of that discussion were dumbfounding. I'm not exactly sure how the topic ever came up but I was glad it did. Because what we learnt from each other was something truly mind opening. Anyway, in the end, the options below in the survey were all the possible combinations people used.
I want to know what the majority use and if there are any other combinations that I am not aware of then please let me know. This is a serious poll and believe me the results will surprise you. All votes are anonymous. Comment freely.
Also please link to this site and tell everyone you know about it. The more people voting, the more accurate the results will be. Personally, I am a strong advocate of FF. All votes are anonymous.
There is no voting option for TP users unfortunately.

I have been told that BB people have a tendency to splash water over the place and that the FF approach has more control and wastes less water.
Question for the FF people - how do you manage to get the water all the to zone if you don't have a muslim shower - i.e. if you are using a lota or in desperate circumstances a tim horton's cup?
We just spend more time on it and usually arms are long enough to reach. For bb people I really dont get how they prevent themselves from dislocating their shoulders every time they go to the loo. Special technique? Longer arms?
For BBing the usual trick is to lean forward slightly and apply. Some times the back is arched to the left or right (depending on which hand is used) to increase reach. Gravity takes care of the water reaching the correct place.
Do FFs splash - rinse - splash? Given unlimted resources I'd say that BBs usually get a nice stream of water trickling down before getting in there.
BB all the way! Agree with bb-guy. Leaning forwarding and tilting to the side always works. Although I may want to add that its faster and easier for water to trickle down the back to where it needs to get (rather than the front!)
Wonder how FF's manage to get arm between the legs, enough to be able to reach back up to do the neccessary cleaning!
Another reason why BB works is because everything that happens at the back is dealt with at the back, you can't look even if you want to!

I tried BF today during my 15 mins stay in restroom,being a FF it was quite difficult for me as i was using lota
then i tried muslim shower and it worked but still i was not feelin comfortable,so FF is OK for me

if this was a psych lab, this whole survey would be deemed unfit for testing.
i don't think genfer has anything to do with it. i have another theory to predict which technique a person would use. most of all it depends on how you were washed by your guardians/nanny etc when you were a kid. this is the inbetween time where you learnt how to use the toilet and learnt how to wash yourself. as far as i can remember i was bb from the begining.
FFs - do you remember being BB'd when you were younger?

I had this discussion with a bunch of my friends at college too. Personally, I don't see how FF works. I've tried it a couple times and its been an absolute dis-ass-ter!! MAYBE FB, but not FF--unless you're a lady. Nevermind.
The question for your related poll is going to have to be--do you stand up when you're washing/wiping? Or do you sit down? The responses I got to that from my friends really blew me away...

But to explain how FF works, Ive been kind of perplexed by it for some time, but I conducted some experiments recently that showed that the water is able to reach the appropriate area(s) by actually often traveling down the front of the left arm/hand. Thus, your arm/hand is continuall washed by the lota water.
Well! I think FF is should be comfortable only for females.
And as far as BB is concerned I cannot visualize it,I mean which way do you bend? arm having water or the cleaner arm, both woul dbe short.
I think FB is the best. Because water keeps on dropping and the cleaner arm just needs to reciprocate.
Hmm, this looks like a typical survey where people are so shy and inhibited that the actual topic is barely clear. Most comments are turned into jokes for the same reason.
You can't "wash" your hands with dry paper - the same applies to the ass. Use a bidet shower in one hand, clean whatever private parts with the other, then use TP to dry the whole set. Wash your hands again, flush the toilet. Done.

Thanks to Ben above -- my question was "well, lovely, there you are all clean... and dripping wet. Whadaya do now?" I'd think the TP would get all soggy and fall apart and leave little sticky bits all over yer tush, though, no? (Alao I suggest flushing the toilet before washing your hands.)
Anyway, ATTENTION ALL WOMEN! Just as wiping from back to front with tp brings yucky germs forward and causes vaginal and urinary tract infections, DO NOT WASH BACK-TO-FRONT.
I suppose there would be other ways to accomplish this, but as far as I can see the only healthy way to do it would be water from front, hand from back, making sure to reach forward and wipe front to back under there instead of sorta scrubbing randomly.

Not to get too technical but it depends if your sitting down on a toilet or squatting over a hole in the ground...when sitting on a toilet i prefer to use the FF method, however when squatting i find it much easier to use the water from the back and hand from the front..so the question should be clarified to whether one is sitting on a conventional toilet or a traditional squatter..
Your post has been linked to by the wikipedia entry on 'lota', but I assume you're aware of that by now.
How about another poll (if you haven't done it already): if you're in the west, and lotas are not easily available, what utensil do you use in the bathroom in place of a lota?
a) watering can from the garden
b) measuring cup
c) empty plastic milk bottle
d) a glass tumbler
e) import a real lota from 'back home' when you go on vacation.
